Amanda Bossard was just out her high school days when she started her studies in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her commercial seafood career in 1999, when she started working aboard the ship F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner that was converted into the role of a salmon tender is owned by Murat Aritan. The fisherman has been in commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard is currently is married to Aritan and the couple has joined together to assert their claim to the market. They believe in conservative, sustainable managing of the renewable resources for seafood. Otolith has opened its market direct wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia in the year Bossard returned from living back at home with her daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1year old, and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. The husband of the business has a lengthy career in the fishing industry, which often keeps them separate for five months or more. It is during this time that they're focusing on their environment and financial goals.
